Overview of Nuon's Products

Nuon Therapeutics, Inc. is currently evaluating two candidates in clinical trials for use in two major market indications in the U.S. and Europe:

Hyperuricemia and Gout

NU1618: an oral combination of tranilast and allopurinol for the treatment of hyperuriciema in patients with gout. An initial proof-of-principle study has been completed and the Company is advancing NU1618 into late stage phase 2 clinical trials.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

NU3450: an oral monotherapy of tranilast for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Initial proof-of-principle trial initiated in 2009.

Tranilast is an orally active, small molecule drug originally developed by Kissei Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. The drug has regulatory approval for asthma, atopic dermatitis and other indications in Japan, and South Korea. Tranilast has been marketed in Japan for nearly three decades and has a well established safety record.

Nuon Therapeutics, Inc. decided to develop tranilast based on key experimental findings performed and new applications identified in collaboration with the company’s Founder Dr. Michael Selley, and Co-Founders, Dr. Marc Feldmann and Dr. Larry Steinman.
